We are a nationwide organization in all 50 states, focusing exclusively on automotive issues and have been the preeminent firm in our industry for over 35 years.

About the Role

We are seeking a Human Factors Specialist with experience in the automotive industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in understanding human behavior in vehicle environments, including perception, reaction time, attention, and decision-making. This specialist will play a key role in assessing the human elements in accident cases and providing expert insight into how these factors may have influenced each incident.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive analyses of automotive accidents with a focus on human factors influencing driver behavior.

Collaborate with reconstruction experts to evaluate factors like perception-response time, visual and cognitive distractions, and driver decision-making.

Review accident data, eyewitness statements, and vehicle specifications to assess the human factors contributing to each case.

Prepare detailed reports that accurately convey human factors findings to clients, such as attorneys and insurance companies, in understandable terms.

Provide expert testimony and assist in depositions when needed, explaining findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Stay up-to-date with research in human factors, particularly as it relates to automotive accident reconstruction and emerging vehicle technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human factors analysis, preferably in an automotive or accident reconstruction context.

  • Strong understanding of human cognition, perception, and behavior in vehicular settings.

  • Familiarity with accident reconstruction techniques and software (e.g.,VCrash, PC-Crash, HVE) is a plus.

  • Ability to analyze data and communicate complex findings clearly in written reports and verbal presentations.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team of reconstruction experts and legal professionals.
